- Inspect both pressure sample tubes from the DPF to the sensor for plugging, kinks, moisture, or cracks; check fittings for leaks.
- Perform a sensor electrical check per service information: reference voltage, ground, and signal circuit integrity to the PCM.
- Compare live DPF differential-pressure readings at idle and during a controlled rev to expected values; look for stuck, erratic, or out-of-range signals.
- If the sensor tests good electrically, disconnect and cap the sample tubes to test sensor output with atmospheric pressure; evaluate response.
- Check for accompanying codes such as P2453, P2002, or P2459 that may indicate related DPF or regeneration issues.
